I knew I was in for a treat when my friend that doesnt anything strong tasted it, made a nasty face, called it a bunch of names and then gave it to me. Oh yeah, finally a beer with balls after drinking a bunch of weak lagers.
Appearance: Slightly hazy medium-dark copper with a very small, slightly off-white, dense head with good retention. Nice lacing!
Smell: Yeah, theres no hiding the strength of this beer. A big caramel maltiness, alcohol, raisin, earth, and a light hop aroma.
Taste: Wow! A sweetness balanced by an alcoholic zing. Big flavor! Caramel, alcohol, dark fruit, and a bit of diacetyl. The finish is long in duration, starting with a light bitterness fading into a sweetness and warming sensation that stay with you for a good while!
Mouthfeel: Full body, thick chewy texture, low carbonation.
Drinkability: Big-beer lovers will love this one! Everything about its character is huge. As strong as this beer is, it was remarkably easy going down. A real treat worth seeking out!
