Our famous Ubu Ale from LPP&B brewed on premise, then aged in a bourbon barrel for 6 months. Subtle flavors of Bourbon. Vanilla & Oak blend nicely with the malt backbone & dark cherry flavors of this Strong English Ale.

From draft at Big Slide. We’ll-made but unpleasant tasting to me…too boozy.

On tap at Big Slide Brewery and Public House in Lake Placid, NY.
This one pours a dark amber/brown-ish color, with a small white head, and a little bit of lacing.
This smells like vanilla, tobacco, chocolate, bourbon, oak, and caramel.
This is really solid stuff, and the best beer I've had between both LPP&B and Big Slide. I was maybe a little bit worried that the ABV of Ubu was too low to stand up to barrel-aging, but it came out of the barrels creamy and pretty rich. There's chocolate, dark fruit, vanilla from the barrel, oak, light bourbon, and some toffee.
This is medium bodied, pretty creamy, and with no real booziness to it.
This was really quite good stuff.
