LPP&B's quintessential "Breakfast Beer". It's an oatmeal, cream stout featuring lactose sugar & locally roasted coffee beans from the Adirondack Bean-To Coffee Roasters in Saranac Lake. Dark, smooth, and delicious, it's a great way to start (or end) you day.

every winter I really look forward to a trip to Lake Placid. That coincides with a stop at the brewery to grab one of our favorite brews Sunrise Stout! It was the first seasonal beer I ever had there and I will always be a fan of it
A- completely opaque. Just a dark body with minimal mocha foam that quickly disappears after the pour. Not much for lacing along the edges, however there is a thin layer of foam along the sides
S- ok, this is the part I love.. there are so many coffee stouts out there. Some are crafted to exhibit some cream and sugar sweetness on the brew (ie: WnB). Some are made to be a thicker type of coffee flavor with oatmeal presest (ie: FBS). And some are just an iced coffee focused on black coffee beans (ie: coffee bender). Sunrise stout's scent is just like bender whereby dark coffee beans are at the forefront and exit of the scent profile. I love that pure aromatic scent and sunrise has it
T- it's like you pulled up at Tim Hortens and asked for an iced coffee, no cream or sugar... PERFECT! Black coffee beans have to be steeped in this brew forever it seems like! Delicious all over! I love black coffee and I love black coffee beers.
M- very light carbonation and that is ok. To me, it draws the parallel to the iced coffee I have been mentioning. Very light and crisp
O- what a coffee stout! Lake Placid turned me on to craft beer years ago. They make some stellar brews up north. Sunrise stout is a perfect example of making a coffee stout that is committed to the simple attributes of the style. Ever winter I will seek this out forever!
