Would be A good part of the product line, for fish and chips. C hop rather than a true English style. C hop aroma, Grapefruity initial taste, and then the more acidic rind, then settling into malt. Lace. Quaffable. An identity crisis in style. Carbonation not quite right. Cries out for food accompaniment,

Pearl Street is a place I used to frequent when I came to Buffalo to visit now that I live here I have found many other places around the area who have better food and beer for that matter. This poured a deep amber with good clarity with a thinner white head, mainly malt dominant aromas some sweet doughiness and a little fruit mainly orange not much hop presence though. As like the aromas malt driven in my mind somewhat bready and lightly sweet with orangy notes the hop come quick and vanish just as fast in the finish with some light herbal/spiciness.Well a pretty basic ESB no frills and somewhat boring but has some flavor.

More golden than amber with only trace amounts of off-white foam. Because of the temperature at which it was served (too cold) and the lack of head, it was somewhat difficult to pick up much in the way of aromas. What I did get was slightly fruity (apricot and sundry citrus) and sweet (some caramelly malts). The taste of this beer grew on me as it warmed. Its most distinctive flavors were of peach and sweet oranges, with a bit of toasty/caramelly malt involved near the end. I also found the slight diacetyl presence somewhat endearing. Bit of mineral twang at the finish. Mouthfeel was slightly carbonated, quenching, and thin-to-medium-bodied. A decent enough offering, better than most of what Pearl Street brews, but seems a bit weak when compared to the stand-out beer of the line up, the Canal Street Stout. In any case, the Harbor Master was an appropriate enough companion for my fish and chips (good fries!).
