my first beer from these guys, a cool little bottle of beer for sure. its a deep brassy color lager, wheat based, with a pretty robust hop profile, quite modern and even american tasting to me, a drinkable beer, but a little heavy for what i think its trying to be, and not quite as fresh as it could be, not their problem i know. good clarity to this for being wheat based, simple overall really, but a little tired as it is. the hops add some bitterness beyond what i normally expect in the style, but also a nice citrus bouquet, floral too, pleasant and mild, but its the malt that dominates this one for me, its bold for what it is, both in flavor and feel, lots and lots of body, some minerals and even metallics to it, baked or toasted, never sweet, but malty in a traditional sense. the wheat adds a lot, there is a little astringency here too, and its a bit bland in the finish for how interesting it is earlier on. its always fun to try new beers from unfamiliar breweries, and this was interesting enough to warrant some serious thought. i hope to try more from these guys in the future!
