Bought two 16 ounce cans from Beer Drop and would like more for my next shipment. Excellent. Close to World Class.
First, a rationale on my style choice. While UnTappd puts this as a Belgian Strong, BA puts 7% ABV as the dividing point shared with BPAs. Since Wine Cellar's alcohol is well-concealed and since it is winey and has an unusual spice (coriander), I put it in the BPA style because its upper echelons also creatively refresh and please.
I'm not Looking at a BPA driven by its yeast, so its foam fades fast and it lacks protein swirls. But Smells clue me something unique is in store; mostly lemon/lime fruit followed by this herb (my snout can't verify, but the brewer says coriander.) Now upon further research, this herb is common in the Southeast Asia kitchen... so a good choice for beer. But coriander also is used to make soap smell exotic... and Yak & Yeti's use is strong enough to remind me of washing my face; also a pleasurable event. Nonetheless and knowing this association to soap, I can transcend the Taste and know that I'm not washing my face; but rather, eating dinner. I should have paired this with Thai food and if I can find it again, I will.
Bravo to Spice Trade. I think I really like the idea behind their Single Origin Series and the Nile Coriander in this Golden is a great introduction.
8/18/21 I had the second can for refreshment. So I am obligated to get more from Beer Drop and pair this with Thai food. In the meantime, I'm keeping count over @ UnTappd.
