22 oz bottle poured murky brown with a decent head.
Surprisingly mild aroma -- both the BBL effects and the base porter seem subdued.
Flavor: mild porter base; porter somewhat dominated by the light BBL treatment.
Feel: needs both a fuller body and a touch more carbonation.
O: suffered by comparison to a BBL aged porter from Founders that preceded it.

draft at Busy Bee
a: served in a tall snifter, this barreled porter is an opaque brown, essentially black in color, sporting a creamy tan colored head with good retention
s: a strong start - the rich porter body supports an an artfully implemented barrel aging - mild bourbon, vanilla, and oak add layers of smooth complexity to the roasted barley and chocolate aromas
m: carbonation light to moderate, maybe low for my preference but not too much so, body on the fuller end of moderate, creamy and smooth
t: nicely hefty porter base, lots of smooth roast and dark chocolate, very flavorful, the barrel comes through with vanilla and a delicate but obvious bourbon presence, minimal alcohol, appropriate malty/sweet body, great blending of flavors here
o: a very nice beer, the (perhaps) abnormally full base porter really keeps the barrel influence from taking over, which is pretty impressive for a 6 percent abv beer - I've seen many in that range come out an unbalanced mess
