Genova 26/7 2024. 33 cl bottle from Enoteca Bonanni, Via San Vincenzio, Genova. Brown label in San Gabriel’s usual design with gold letters.
Pours unclear - almost opaque - mahogany with a mid-sized off-white head. Settles as thin patch of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet, malty odor with a spicy streak and a whiff of yeast. Caramel and toffee. Roasted nuts. Moldy towels. Whiff of sour grains.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, almost flat texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly more moderate sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is sour. Lingers for a bit. Finish is semi-dry.
Amber Ale with a tart streak.
