I had this beer on-tap in a big glass mug at the brewery. This is an Oktoberfest/Märzen.
Appearance: rich orange hue with a light haze and a thick head of dark ivory foam.
Smell: sweetish malt with a bit of yeasty fruitiness and a toasty malt character. Nice.
Taste: toasty malt with a more pronounced yeastiness than I’m used to in the style. That said, it’s not biscuity at all, which is a common trait that I don’t love. Bitterness is moderate. So, it’s a bit different than a lot of Oktoberfests I’ve had, but it’s certainly not bad!
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: not the typical oktoberfest in my experience, but it’s quite enjoyable nevertheless!
