75cl brown glass bottle purchased at a bottle shop in Nice, France. Regrettably brief notes below (given a poor review environment):

Warning: overflows/gushes upon opening.

A: Head is foamy as they come, with an appealingly soft and fluffy consistency. Occupies ~80% of the glass, taking 10 minutes to recede fully. Billowing and pleasant. Leaves ample cobwebby lacing behind as it recedes.

Body is a murky pale copper. No yeast is visible within.

Sm: Melon, soft wheat, Belgian pale malts, biscuity Belgian ale yeast, dry starchiness, heavily floral, and subtly fruity, with plenty of esters introduced by the Belgian yeast.

Aromatic intensity is average. Suggests a balanced and enjoyable beer with a soft refreshing mouthfeel.

T&Mf: Oddly starchy and dry in the taste, yet not unrefreshing. Subtlety coarse but approachable. The starchiness works to accentuate the biscuity Belgian ale yeast, which itself offers subtle fruity esters and a bit of vague spiciness. Hints of melon and bitter orange peel. Malt backbone is all Belgian pale malt.

Crisp and sharply overcarbonated, which really holds it back. Medium-bodied.

Not oily, gushed, hot, harsh, astringent, boozy, or rough - though it could definitely be softer on the palate.

Not unbalanced, but it needs some dialing in. It's a pleasant build for a saison, though it lacks the intricate spice profile and brettanomyces funkiness often noticed in the best expressions of the style. Average depth, duration, and intensity of flavour.

O: The manageable 6% ABV makes this an ale that's easy to drink. Though it offers nice subtlety and complexity generally speaking, in terms of the style it's merely average or thereabouts. If not for the price, I'd happily buy it again. Interesting enough to warrrant a one-off purchase. More solid work from Pinta, but it won't dazzle discerning drinkers or compete on an international level.
