a hazy milkshake ipa with peaches. i really didnt know these guys were doing beer like this, but i was impressed with the list at their northside location when we were in recently, some really ambitious stuff that looks like it doesnt really leave the taproom. this is real cloudy, orange tinted, and holds a creamy white head. it smells like sweet peaches and complimentary tropical hops, real low on the bitterness it seems, with notes of lemon and orange and papaya all there from the hops. its pretty grainy too, wheaty, starchy, dense. the flavor is great though, oddly balanced for a beer like this, and i dont taste a ton of lactose or vanilla or anything that usually makes these milkshake types undrinkable, its just peaches and hops, a touch sweet sure, but its natural to the fruit and helps bring that element forward, its not too much at all. the peach has a slightly candied thing to it, which the hops come on at the same time, pineapple and mango and citrus, flavorful and well dosed, mostly dry hopped without much bitterness, fresh as can be, no vegetal bite or anything either, and its smooth with all the grain in here. i couldnt drink a dozen of them, but one was nice. this is a hard style to get right, and they really have done a nice job with it. peachy and hoppy at the same time, but nothing is forced. they should can this!
