a simple but tasty gose here, another beer type i didnt really expect to find here, but was glad i did. this is light on the sourness, which helps be be drinkable as a pint beer, and the fruit is natural and tangy as well, without any of the jammy sweetness that sometimes turns me off in the style, it remains light and refreshing, and for being so straightforward, its quite good. less color than anticipated from the fruit, and not a whole lot of head retention here, but the aroma and flavor is really appealing, with a natural ripe berry front end and some citrusy pucker later on, the fruit and the lacto go really well together, and its very clean, no sweaty sock, no cheese, no weird fermentation characteristics at all, so well done on that. its not quite as interesting as the best ones in the game, and i think a lot of that is because i dont really appreciate much salt in this, maybe in the texture a little bit, but really not in the flavor, which i kind of miss, i think it would highlight the raspberry in a cool way. i do like that i can taste the grain in this, and that there is a little complimentary lime thing in the finish that makes it pop pretty well. overall a fine beer, a little tame for the style, but solid. i was impressed with the selection at their northside location, tons of cool beers i had not seen before!
