a clean, simple, and well executed kolsch, maybe not quite as flavorful as the best examples of the style, but the right elements are in place here. i definitely appreciate the lightness, its crisp and easy drinking, refreshing with the high carbonation and the finishing dryness, and is a highly drinkable summer weather brew. it has a little bit of european grain character to it, a light pils malt crackery taste, and a really clean yeast thats only there for a second, maybe not quite as robust and identifiable as it often is in the style, but good, just mild. there arent a lot of hops in this one, just enough to help crisp up the finish, ever so slightly floral to me, but hardly bitter at all and really traditional to me. the freshness stands out, as does the tidy fermentation, but this is unexciting beer, even if its very good. i like the lightness and the refreshment value, and overall was pretty stoked on all the beers i had at kettlehouse, a brewery i had long wanted to visit. cool to taste on some of their lesser known beers like this. im sure this would sell well if they canned it next summer...
