i had no idea these guys were making beers like this, but they had quite a few of them on tap when i was in, many of them even bottled to go as well, pretty rad! this is a barrel aged sour with tangerines, and its delicious. a good mix of acidity and funkiness, its very woody and mature to me on the ferment, but its also bright and fresh with the fruit, which makes this pop with summer vibes. the acidity is lactic but clean which i like, there is a bretty element as well, and i can still taste some grain, its not all fruit, and this has to be wheat based. there is a light haze to it, an orange toned body, and a short white fizzy head on top. its piquant in nose and taste with the fruit and acid running out in front together, but some grain support and the wood and farmy elements there as well. it could maybe use a touch more carbonation but i like it not being too sour so it stays easy drinking. the tangerine is natural and bright, and it has me thinking about other fruits in this same base, wine grapes, apricots and peaches, even apples for the fall, seems versatile enough for all of it. a cool surprise on tap in here!
