Many thx to muchloveforhops3 for this beer!

A - Dark amber/garnet colored pour with a moderately dense toffee colored lacing ring.

S - Some oak and smokiness with an ever so slight hit of toasty caramel malt.

T - Lightly toasted malt with some Bourbon and some acidic tartness lurking in the background.

M - Medium body with gentle carbonation.

O - Nice smokiness.

This is an outstanding beer. Had it in the taproom. Stronger, and in my opinion, better than the regular Cold Smoke., with a stronger Scotch taste

On tap at Kettelhouse North, 17 October 2011.

This is Cold Smoke that spent an unspecified amount of time in unspecified bourbon barrels.

This pours almost pitch black, several shades darker than regular Cold Smoke, with an eggshell half-finger head that leaves spotty lace. On the nose there is an initial hit of hottish bourbon with the caramel malts buried far underneath. There is vanilla and something like maraschino cherries lurking, too. In the mouth, the peaty, smoky notes of the base beer come out a bit more, but there is the abiding note of bourbon over them. The body is medium, thinner than I had expected, but no surprise given the eminently-drinkable base beer. The finish is long on bourbon and gets hot as everything but the ethanol dies out.

Overall, this is a nice variation of a good beer, worth checking out while it's still available.
