Its got a great feel, but an average taste. The IPA aroma is just too familiar. Its not bad.

Another disappointingly bland beer from New Belgium. The aroma and the taste seem like they have been baked out of it. When I had my first sip and noted this very apparent lack of flavor, I thought that maybe it had sat on the shelf too long. But this beer lists an expiration date two months from now, so I will assume it is still in a pretty good zone freshnesswise. Yet it tastes like very little. You'd think that a beer in the IPA substyle that prioritizes aroma and flavor over bitterness would light up the senses with vivid "color" instead of seeming so dull and weak , but that is my experience. it has more aroma than it does flavor, but that's not saying much. What aroma and flavor are there are not bad at all, it's just that there isn't much of it either. It seems like a mistake batch that should not have made it out the door. I think I will have to make a shandy out of it with some lime or lemon or something to be able to enjoy the rest of the six pack, as sad as that seems for a craft beer. I keep trying to like this brewery and it keeps not happening. Their stuff just seems too safe, like even more timid than Sam Adams. :(

12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with an off white head. Smell was mango and grapefruit. Taste was dank, citrus, and resin. Not bad but could have been better.

Pours a cloudy amber color. 2/3 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and good lacing. Smells of earthiness, citrus hops, hint of spicy hops, hint of resin, and a hint of citrus. Fits the style of an American IPA. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. There is a slight bitterness. Tastes of citrus, citrus hops, slight sweet malt, earthiness, hint of spicy hops, and a hint of alcohol. Overall, weak body, blend has a weak finish, but a decent IPA nevertheless.

Pours a mostly opaque dull yellow-orange with creamy white cap, thin lace down the glass. Smell: red grapefruit, orange, more citric perfume a la coriander, green bell pepper. Taste: tangerine and grapefruit juice 50/50, lemon candy. A bit thin, like it's cut with tonic water. Finish is spicy, vegetal, and powdery... not great. OK. Begs you to drink quickly, as the flavor upfront is much more pleasant than the finish.

Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is thick, hazy, almost dense gold; head presents at least 1.5 inch thick with a rounded top over the glass edge, taking minutes to lower and still leaves at least 1/4 inch top.

Smell is a bit soft, light floral and citrus with pineapple.

Taste follows aroma with light presence with floral, citrus, and pineapple like hop flavors, not much malt depth or notable adjuncts - spice is noticeable but not distinguishable.

Mouthfeel is a softened ipa at first then the bitterness overtakes and dries out the tongue. I'm still not sure on how the hazy/NE IPA sub style should play out in terms of presence, but I don't think i prefer how this variation plays out.

Overall - presentation is decent, just a bit to thick; smell is subdued; taste brings more than aroma; mouthfeel is soft and then quickly dry.

Voodoo Ranger Juicy Haze IPA has a thick, off-white head, an opaque orange-yellow appearance, which clouds up, even more, after the "swish & pour". It has heavy glass lacing. Aroma is somewhat sweet & fruity, but the overall aroma is of breakfast cereal (think Cherrios). Taste is similar, with low level pale ale bitterness. Mouthfeel is high medium, and Juicy Haze finishes medium wet.
