A - Hazy medium orange gold color with light carbonation with dense, bright white creamy foam on top (and sticky on the sides of the glass).

BB date : 27 June 2021

Pale hazy yellow, with slight orange tint. One finger of fine white head, that leaves a 1/8" ring, and light surface sheet. Looks like pineapple juice with a little tangerine juice mixed in.

Smells of grapefruit, pineapple, a vague citrus mix , and a light malt aroma.

Taste is grapefruit, pineapple, lime zest, and a slight bitter herbal flavor.

Feel is juicy, with fine, lightly-sharp carbonation bite.

Overall , enjoyable , even if not in the top tier of such beers.
As I'm eating some spicy barbecue chicken, that has a tamarind/orange/ginger/cardamom/serrano flavor profile , I MAY have to revisit, & revise the flavor description & rating. ;)

Soft, pale yellow body, hazy; thick and creamy head, white and sculpted; thick, heavy sheets of foam paint the inside of the glass. Some fine tropical fruit scents; pineapple, grapefruit, lemon. Low-key malt base; biscuit; muted juiciness with a very dull sweetness; light to moderate hop bitterness. Heavy body; velvety; fairly dry overall.

This beer exudes great looks. Its other aspects are pretty respectable, too. The taste is the weak link. It's not bad, just seems somewhat dull and flat but not boring. Maybe it is the age of the beer although the date on the bottom of the can indicates (I guess) a best-by date of "06 JUN 2020". Regardless, I'd go for another one without reservation.

A little thin and lightly fizzy for the style, the beer overall sits in a groove between a typical hazy/cloudy NE IPA and a regular IPA. It isn't too bitter, but has some classic hop notes that often come with bitterness, grapefruit pith and grassy herbs. It's opening, thankfully, isn't as sweet as many of the thicker hazies, but has some tropical and citrus fruit notes. Balanced all around, the opening fruitiness leads to a little sweetness which itself buffers the opening and the light pith/grass ending.

For a “juicy haze” IPA it’s got just as much malt in the flavor as juicy hops. Has that sweet malty aspect like graham cracker and biscuit to keep the bitterness tame, while allowing nice citrus flavors like lemon zest, grapefruit and tangerine to come through. Some mild spices trail in the finish, which ends with lemon and crackers.

This beer doesn't work for me. Looks fine, smells ok, but the taste isn't at all hazy juicy. It is like the spawn of yuengling and fat tire. Maybe this is a bad can?

L: Pours almost opaque misty lemon with one finger of white froth.

S: Lemon zing, subdued citrus.

T: Again, lemon, some maltiness.

F: Soft, mild, light, citrus.

O: Not the most interesting of IPA's, there are better Voodoo Ranger brews out there.

Look - poured from a 12 oz bottle. Straw yellow in color, cloudy, and a two finger head with good lacing retention.
Smell - tropical fruit notes, reminiscent of a pineapple-orange juice blend.
Taste - very juicy, with some malt flavors detectable as well. low on bitterness, with a faint hint of hoppy nudge towards the finish.
Feel - medium bodied, average carbonation, and standard in ABV for the style at 7.5%.
Overall - a solid hazy IPA. there are far too many in this category for this particular brew to stand out, but it's easy drinking and enjoyable.

L: Even paler straw yellow than their Higher Plane IPA. It's not an appealing color.

S: Decent aroma of tropical citrus and pine.

T: The flavor is non-confrontational. What little flavor there is is good, but there isn't much going on.

F: Feels light and the stickiness is more balanced. Actually pretty good for 7.5%

O: If Bud Light made a NE IPA...

It looks like cloudy grapefruit juice. Loose foamy white head.
Smells like orange and grapefruit juice combined.
Tastes like grapefruit juice with a hint of orange. It’s not really sweet but enough to offset the hops. There’s not even the slightest hint that this stuff is 7.5abv.
The mouthfeel is light and semi dry, I’d go as far as saying it’s crushable but if you crush to many it would definitely crush you. To me, it’s outstanding. It’s so drinkable even my wife kinda liked it and she hates ipa’s.

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Beer is a hazy golden straw color with a slightly off white two finger head with medium/small bubbles. Nice lacing left on the glass. Nose reminds me of mangoes and pineapples with hints or citrus. Taste is citrusy fruit with a grapefruit pith bitterness on the back end. Solid NEIPA but not my favorite.

An after tennis beer on a friends front porch. This has a decent hazy look. The scent is somewhat muted but I’d call it citrus based. Flavors got some slight caramel malt with some citrus in there and it’s not too bitter. Not what I’d call creamy but it’s got some body to it with decent carbonation. Kind of a mass market version of a NE IPA. Wouldn’t dwell on this one.

Poured into my tulip this beer is a well hazed dusty lemon yellow with a bubbly 2 finger white head. Fluffy lace on the glass.

Scent is citrus, tangy lemon, lime, grapefruit.

Taste is muddled tropical fruit, creamy lemon, vanilla. Almost an orange creamsicle note. Very low bitterness.

Mouth is creamy and soft.

Solid IPA. I would prefer a bit more intensity in the flavor but overall quite enjoyable.

Went on a delivery person’s recommendation as he was stocking shelves at my local Publix. AND it was a brew his distributor didn’t distribute! Nice beer and I am glad I followed his advice. Not to hoppy, nice New England look to it, and at 7.5abv it worked. Solid beer and I will buy it again!

A great new offering from New Belgium - a nice west coasty IPA from the middle of the country. Smell is nice and fruity, some grapefruit notes and vague citrus. Taste is on the sweet side for sure, not a hop bomb by any means. Give this to one of your friends who have sworn off IPA's due to their aversion to high IBU beers. The mouthfeel is very creamy, very smooth a nice beer for any occasion. It's a 7.5% ABV but it goes down like a lawn mower brew so be careful with this one. I am always amazed how this big beers hide the alcohol - nice job NB.

19.2oz can. Best by date stamped on can bottom is '31 JAN 2021'.
Slightly murky, straw colored body. Big four finger white head. Leaves behind webs of lacing.
Aroma of orange and grapefruit, with a bit of piney bite. Quite aromatic.
Taste is orange creamsicle, with a mid appearance of pine, and then a smooth exit with the citrus.
Medium plus mouth feel, with some coating of the mouth. Excellent carbonation.
I get directed toward a oat induced taste and texture. Easy to drink but one is enough.

pours a hazy yellow gold with a billowing off white frothy foam head that has exceptionally high retention, and leaves thick ropey patches of sudsy sticky lacing and it settles

aroma is pungent burst of bright tangerine and sweeter side of grapefruit with the hop bitterness fully in tow, a slight nod towards earthy pine, but pulling right back to the citrus side of grapefruit. a soft sweet malt provides the backbone.

taste is tropical and bright tangerine with tinges of grapefruit with muted bitterness until the back-end.

moderate carbonation medium-light body with a smooth yet billowing feel that ends slightly bitter, slightly herbal, earthy and dry

overall:
summed up: Tangerine NEIPA with grapefruit leanings. the malt is mostly muted and the hop profiles aren't too adventurous past the tangerine target, which they totally get. the result is an enjoyable but less nuanced and rewarding IPA that is certainly sessionable, but hardly an "event"

The VooDoo Ranger series doesn't disappoint...

Hazy to its name, frothy head, and great lacing greet you right out of the can. The smell is an almost perfect blend of hop-forward bitters with a strong yet appealing odor of tangerines. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, slightly creamy to the tongue, and encourages sip-after-sip. The taste is both lightly boozy, hop-forward with strong bitterness but not to the point of distraction. Overall, this is a very solid brew. One of the better ones of the series.

2 Finger off white foam creates loose lacing as it slides into the beer. Color is hazy pale yellow reminding me of cloudy white grapefruit juice.

On the nose, I detect citrus and mild pine on a slightly sourdough bread base.

Slightly sweet pineapple, pear, and citrus greet the palate. The hops are subtle and more on the citrus side than pine and not bitter at all. Finish is full and slightly dry and warming.

Overall a very nice hazy beer that is impressively balanced to be not too juicy and not too hoppy. This makes it a solid repeat buy for me.
