After grumbling for so lo no, I’ve finally given Voodoo Ranger another try. This is the first of four in the variety pack. From the can this pours clear, with a juice forward hop profile on the nose. The sip is similar, with a sweet leaning flavor profile. Generally decent, without anything standing out.

Copper orange appearance, fluffy white head, ok retention. Citrus, orange, pine, big hop bitterness. Medium body, crisp lively mouthfeel. One of the better Voodoo IPAs.

Solid beer! The smell and taste is a mix of pine and citrus with some good bready backbone. The head is nice and rocky and there is OK lacing. Overall look is clear and amber. Honestly, this is one of the better beers of this ABV that I have had. Very drankable.

 

LOOK: Surprisingly very little haze in the pour. It is a near clear gold in color with slightly off white head that has excellent retention and a full 360 degrees of side glace lace.
AROMA: Citrus notes, earthy floral. These characteristics melt to together creating a unique combination of scents.
TASTE: The same combination makes for an interesting and tasty beer. the 8.1% ABV is well masked but as you sip you start to feel the impact.

Smell has lots of citrus, orange and coriander. Pretty satisfying - not sessionable at this high an ABV but that's okay. Finish is clean and crisp. Really very juicy and tropical.

 

 

First sip was pretty sweet. Opened up pretty quickly and detected some of hop bite that NB advertises. Dank but only a little bit. I get some melon and notes of dirty bird. Nothing spectacular but it will do, like your mom.
