Glass: Clear 16-oz. Bruges beer glass
Price: $14 for a 4-pack
From: Blind Lady Ale House in San Diego, Calif.
Purchased: May 22, 2020
Consumed: May 22, 2020
Misc.: No canned on date
Grabbed a 4-pack of this with a takeout at Blind Lady Ale House, the first takeout we’ve gotten during the COVID-19 pandemic. Pretty much saw Mosaic so I bought it, but was labeled as a Mosaic Kolsch. Definitely worth a try.
Poured a golden clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy white head. Lots of bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass at fast speeds. Excellent uneven lacing. Good retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Smelled Mosaic, peanut butter?, nuts, herbal, green grape, pear and corn. Much of the same from the can. Just doesn’t seem right. (Smell - 3.25)
Taste was a little better than the nose. Something is still off though. In order got Mosaic, dry grass, herbal, green grape, pear, nuts, honey and corn. (Taste - 3.50)
Light body. Thin texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Abrupt, dry finish. (Feel - 4.00)
A good Kolsch overall. Definitely hard to nail with the Mosaic. (Overall - 3.50)
