This unique beer is made by souring our Barney Flats Oatmeal stout in wild turkey bourbon barrels for up to 18 months. The acidic and fruity profile is reminiscent of cherry cordials and chocolate cake.

On-tap served in a snifter at Hair of the Dog, Bangkok.
It comes in inky black color with a pretty thick creamy tan head that retains quite okay with decent retention before gradually sinking to some foamy sheet atop and leaving some patch of lace on the glass-side.
In a nose, suggestion of oaky bourbon, chocolate fudge, subtle hint of coffee, dark bread, sour, tart cherry, jam, and acidic.
Fruity sour dominates the taste buds with its cherry, tart, and acidity together with mild bourbon barrel character of wood and oak. Malt is hidden with slight notes of chocolate and dark bread. The end and aftertaste is wrapped up and lasting with sour cherry and subtle bourbon whiskey.
Medium body with good crisp and some lively carbonation that is proper to carry all the things well under the smooth palate and good refreshing feel. Finish is dry.
Sour Stout with mild bourbon barrel character, it is refreshing indeed and quite interesting.

Draft at Bittercreek.. Pours the expected thin looking black... smell is tart blackberry and light bourbon... This tastes pretty much like any other "sour stout" out there and honestly reminds me of a mistake... Not terrible, but it just doesn’t have many redeeming qualities, 10-12 oz was waaaaay too much. Hints of cocoa/coffee with tannic puckering plum skins. Only okay at best.
