A careful pour produces only about 1/4 finger of head. Brew is exceptionally lively, bright, pale gold or straw colored, and nearly transparent.

Not particularly bright or funky for a gose, but there's a bit of straw, hay, light funk, salt, and citrus on the nose. No hint at all that there is cherry added.

On the palate, that all changes nicely. It's bright, sharp, lightly tart. Cherry is almost unnoticeable beyond a mild, cherry pit flavor on the very back end. Salt shows up on the second half and really carries the finish wonderfully. More so than the cherry, I get tones of lemon, lime, and leafy greens.

Lively and super easy to drink.

For a solid cherry gose, I'd lean toward Victory's Kirsch. This, however, is a pleasant and enjoyable brew.

Appearance - Pours with a hint of haze and salmon in color with a white, near half-finger width head that dissipates rather quickly, leaving a barren surface with a thin, broken ring of suds around the edge of the glass. No lacing; none expected.

Smell - Prominent sour cherry aroma with lesser saltiness.

Taste - Fair cherry sweetness with lesser tartness. Good amount of salinity. Cherry dies quickly, Finishing with a hint of crackery malts and leaving solid lemony tartness and saltiness to linger in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - Light with zero little carbonation; spritzy. Becomes terribly thin and watery in the finish.

Overall - Decent gose. Flavor die quick, and it's a bit thin, but it's certainly a drinkable offering.

As Anderson Valley continues to define their sour identity, their classic gose takes a trip through the cherry fields. Borrowing the krieken character of Belgium but in the sour, wheat, slaty and spicy taste of Liepzig the bing cherries fit in quite well.

Pink, peach and slight of rosé, the Cherry Gose pours with a spirited and effervescent lift. A spritz of froth is short in longevity but draws in the nose with tangy red berry, grape, cider, cherry and a gentle drift of sea air. Candied sweetness comes in the vein of fruit roll up, taffy and juicy lifesaver for an early malt tease of the tongue.

As the sweetness scampers away, what's left in its wake is a fruity blend of lime, crabapple, sour grape, gooseberry and cranberry. Acutely sour, the clean acidity is playful on the middle palate and plays into the robust tart fruit flavor of bing cherries that further reinforce a notion of all things red berries. Its brisk salinity provides roundness in balance and helps the cherry to retain its fruit identity late in taste.

Crisp, light and dry, the beer's balance comes way of the juiciness of honeydew and the light rounded mineral character for a surprisingly savory taste to close. A hint of burlap dances on the after palate with the remnants of cherry wine echoing in a brief aftertaste.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 10/11/2018. Pours lightly hazy pale golden/yellow/light pinkish color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin spotty lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big juicy/tart/tangy red cherries, fruit skin/pits, lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, sea salt, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of cherry juice, fruity/acidic yeast, and light-moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy/tart/tangy red cherries, fruit skin/pits, lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, sea salt, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and light spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of juicy/tart/tangy red cherries, fruit skin/pits, lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, sea salt, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of cherry juice, fruity/acidic yeast, and light-moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tartness and tangy fruit balance; with no puckering flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from tartness, tangy fruit, and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, acidic/tangy, and lightly saline balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.2%. Overall this is an excellent gose. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of cherry juice, fruity/acidic yeast, and light-moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the modestly acidic/tangy/drying finish. Not overly lactic or salty. Flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Awesome balanced juicy/jammy cherries, Lacto complexity; and solid pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example as expected.
