‘Underphil’ is our take on the Australian style ESB. A malty, fruity copper colored ale made with new world hops.

Copenhagen 13/3 2020. 33 cl bottle from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. F. Drawing of native Australian coxntmåålating an nearly empty bottle. Not looking entirely happy about the state of affairs.
Pours hazy, copper amber with medium-sized white head. Settles as thin, flimsy layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense and combines as solid, malty sweetness with citric bitterness. Caramel, light roast, biscuits, brown sugar. Light notes of citrus fruit rummaging in the background.
Medium strong carbonation. Thin, oily, tingling - almost fizzy - texture.
Flavor is medium sweet followed by slightly more moderate, citric bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with light citric undercurrent. Lingers for a bit. Lingers for a bit.
Sweet and malty without being cloying and with a satisfying citric, bitter uplift in the end.
