Draft offering at the Pitt location served in an imperial nonic. The brew appears a clear copper color. A solid tan cap rests atop fading slowly leaving patchy lacing on the glass.

The aroma is slightly spicy with a noble hop feel before getting malty with toffee and caramel scents. Not necessarily sweet smelling but the mixture of malt and floral hops makes for an interesting introduction.

The taste includes notes of caramel malt that is lightly sweet and bready to buttery. The hop inclusion is fruity to floral and well balancing without really bringing any perceived bitterness, just a nice inclusion to keep the malt in check and provide plenty of flavor.

This is a light bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. A very easy drinking ESB. Fatheads continues to impress me with every new offering I try. Wish I could get them more regularly.

Served on tap in Pittsburgh. Pours really clear amber/red, almost looks like a brandy or something. Really thin barely off-white head, plenty of clumpy lacing.

Smell is pretty subtle. Slight citrus/malt balance out any recognizable smells. What's there is good, just not overbearing.

Flavor profile is excellent: floral notes combine well with malt backbone and subtle citrus undertones, delicious for style.

Mouthfeel is bitter and refeeshing, well-hopped to enjoy. Smooth and dry.

Overall great representation of the style, in my opinion. Do not normally go for an ESB, but knew I was in for a treat here at Fat Head's. It's a good beer. Cheers

Pours a clear copper color with minimal head and lacing.
Aroma of buttery toffee and caramelized malts. In the taste, bready toffee, malt, caramel creme candies. Complimentary woodsy bitterness with a slight dryness. Light to medium bodied, smooth, with a high-medium carbonation. Overall this went great with a kielbasa, sausage, egg and cheese sandwich, which would make anyone feel like a boss.
