Beer bottle (33 cl.), purchased in Cave du Lion d'Or and tasted in 2011.
Appearance : red brown color, with a huge tan foamy head (nice lacing).
Smell : fruity and yeasty aromas.
Taste and mouthfeel : dark caramel mild, full flavours and hoppy finish.
Drinkability : a good beer in the style English dark mild ale.

330ml bottle bought from The House Of 100 Breton Beers, Locranon, France...
Poured a deep dark ruby red / brown colour with a slight yeasty haze... Creamy tan head poured thick and meringue like and faded slowly to thick covering.... lots of sticky lacing...
Aroma - Nice strong chocolate maltiness, coffee notes, malted milk, toasted bread, smoky / dusty notes, some dark fruits (sultanas, figs, some blackcurrents), faint liquorice notes, spicy, nice peppery hop bitterness...
Taste - Definite chocolate maltiness, toastiness, watery black coffee, nutty sweetness, milky notes, fruity (blackcurrents, plums), peppery, strong earthiness, very light bitterness, faint sourness, light metallic notes...
Feel - Pretty smooth.. Medium bodied. At only 3.1 % an extremely quaffable ale...
Overall - A pretty good and nicely balanced mild... well worth a try...
