Sampled at the local Fall Festival.
The pour is a cola black colour with a minimal head of foam.
The smell, well, impressed me. Loads of coffee and chocolate notes permeated my nosebuds. I was hoping the taste would live up to the smell and...
It did! A hue Stout by anyone's definition, the coffee and chocolate flavours jumped out at me from the get go but they worked beautifully together. More sweet notes from caramel malts and a good roastiness completed this recipe for an outstanding Imperial Stout. Literally, it blew me away!
Medium bodied with lightish carbonation, it was a very smooth brew.
Drinkability? For a 12.5%abv brew, outstanding! I wish I could pick up a growler or 2 of this stuff!
