As a low-gluten beer, Dr. Calypso is a good beer and certainly worth a try.
We start with a big head, but it fades very fast. Smells are inviting, nice blend of hops and sweet malt. Tastes are balanced for an APA, but probably linger longer in the finish than this malt-head would like. Almost medium-mouthed.
While it was not easy to get on Guineu's correct website (I hope BA monitors corrected the link), it is an impressive. Very savvy graphically and from a marketing perspective. They seem to be brewing for over 15 years, which probably makes them middle-aged by Barcelona micro standards. But the breadth of beers are impressive. (They could add an easy-to-find English button, but I got the idea as my Spanish is only half-bad.) Anyhow, they contribute brewing to one of the world's more intense culinary regions and for that, I give them good Overall Hugs.

330ml bottle. ½ pt Nonic glass. Ripe fruit aromas as cap is removed. Golden amber color headed by white foam. Some spots are left on sides. Tropical fruit, mango aromas & resins on the back. Fresh upfront opens to slowly increasing bitterness. Light body. Moderate carbonation. Oily to watery texture. Dried palate. Fruits arise & flow all over while bitterness stops just at the edge of being sharp. Refreshing & very easy drinkable.
