enjoyed on tap at Moeder Lambic in a cervoise
The color is deep black with thick tan head with very fine bead. The smell has a dark malt and spice aroma with woody earthy scent and mild yeast with slight caramel accent. The feel has a creamy quality with toasted texture and moderatly carbonated with roasted and light hint of dark malt bitterness with light chalky and dry finish with light spice.
The taste is very good with dark toasted grain with slight hop flavor w/ a mild spice flavor from the yeast and gentle woodiness with dry nutty yeast and mild fruity element. The malt adds a slight coffee-like bitterness and dark toast flavor which continues into the finish. Overall I enjoyed this, a very good dark saison I would drink this with regularity, smooth and yet spicy with dark cocoa and yeast flavors dominating (in a good way)
