Really good warm weather witbier. Mango is not overpowering but compliments the drink quite well. Very smooth and sessionable, yet packs a decent punch. No after taste and nothing but pleasantness. Overall a really good beer although nothing special.

What a surprise this was indeed...
It had a great, though mild taste of mango to go along with a very good look, a sweet smell, and the carbonation was just right without an feeling of astringentness...Definite a good one from this FL brewery...

For a summer ale had in January, Mango Wit was sort of decent.
Looks: I do like the amber tone to its semi-haze.
Smells: decent, but the mango makes this a one dimensional snort.
Tastes: largely the same; but it becomes obvious that the yeast has not worked the wheat into the fruit bowl of a good wit.
Feel: soft, but I find this thin even for a wit. Needs more carbonation.
As is my habit, I went on the website of a brewer new to me. While Proof is still young, they seem to be growing fast and encouraging others with an invitational brewfest. But beyond that, there is no unique positioning. Hope they bring majority variety to North Florida.

A: Pours a hazy medium burnt orange in color with moderate amount of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and moderate apricot + medium golden yellow colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense creamy foamy off-white head that slowly reduces to a large patch of thin film covering about 90% of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of sweet tropical mango and candied orange peel over the top of light to moderate aromas of wheat malts with light to moderate aromas of spicy/peppery Belgian yeast + coriander spice. Light aromas of floral + herbal + earthy hops.
T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of wheat + slightly bready malts with minimal amounts of sweetness. That is followed by slightly stronger than moderate flavors of sweet tropical mango and spicy/peppery Belgian yeast. Light flavors of candied orange peel + coriander spice. Finally there is a light flavors of floral + herbal + earthy hops which impart a very light amount of lingering bitterness.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Hints of dryness in the finish.
O: Even though witbiers are generally really easy to drink, this is more of a sipper than a pounder due to the fairly aggressive spicy/peppery flavors and sweet overripe mango. Enjoyable with well hidden alcohol.

Tasted from a 12 oz can.
L - Beer is a medium golden color with lots of orange highlights. It is a tiny bit hazy, but much clearer than a typical wit. Head was almost non-existent, only an off-white ring around the glass and a few wisps of bubbles.
S - Aromas of wheat, cracked grain (pilsner?) and an herbal, lightly floral hops note. The herbal hops meld into a mango note in the finish. Gives a very fresh, clean impression.
T - Flavors match the aromas very well. The herbal hops come across more strongly than the wheat and malt, then the herbal note is replaced by a mango fruit juice flavor. The finish is dry despite the strong mango flavor.
F - Medium body. Low carbonation. Low to medium hops bitterness, but enough to keep the fruit flavor from seeming cloying. Cleaner fermentation than expected for a wit; very little Belgian yeast character. No alcohol presence.
O - I find this beer a bit lacking in carbonation, wheat flavor and authentic yeast character for a wit; however, it is a pleasant, clean and refreshing fruit beer.
