S: Grapefruit. Slight floral. Pine.
T: Slightly sweet. Malt and alcohol well balanced. Big hop finish (not over the top). Piney.
M: Medium carbonation. Medium-Big body (Jessica Simpson).
O: great Imperial IPA. Everything is balanced well. Not too malty. Not too hoppy. Not to strong.

I had Fog Lifter on tap today at the Schooner Exact taproom.
Fog Lifter is part of Schooner Exact's Imperial series, I was told by the bartender ... a rotating set of beers that are amped up versions of other stuff they do. Well, whatever they call it, this is an exceptionally well done double IPA.
It's a beautiful copper color, pretty clear. As I noted in another review of an SE beer, it's hard to tell what kind of head a beer has when the bar fills the glass right to the rim. But nice lacing and beautiful color.
The smell and taste are grapefruity all the way. It's not quite in Pliny territory, but much more aromatic and fruity than most IPAs or DIPAs. The beer is really tasty. Bitterness is there, but balanced by the fruity aromas and some maltiness. The 8 percent ABV is barely noticeable.
Overall, an outstanding beer. I expect you could get it if you get down to the tasting room now, but I'm told they are out of the bottles, and I don't know how much longer it will be around on tap. Make some more, Schooner Exact brewers!!
