Formerly Emerald India Session Ale

Mosaic hops greet you with lots of tropical fruit aroma, moving into a low bitterness on the palette. Lots of late hop additions ensure a large citrus hop flavor in the finish. A refreshing, light-bodied beer with low ABV, this is a perfect warm weather beer. The third in our Homegrown Series, Emerald is brewed using Washington grown barley and hops. We support local farming through local brewing.

I had this beer on-tap in a pint glass at the brewery.

Appearance: medium golden hue with a dash of haze and a finger of frothy white foam atop.

Smell: citrusy and floral hop aroma with a bit of graininess underneath. Quite good.

Taste: citrusy hops with a grainy malt backbone. Light, but overall not bad.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: nicely drinkable session IPA. Flavor is a tad light but that's alright for the style.

On draft Portland, OR 10-24 so end of the season for this one.

Deep golden color, small head and thin lacing

Nice aroma more piney than citrus

Same taste coming through with the pine side of the hops coming through, body and taste all on the lighter side but yes, it's a session ale.

Overall an easy drinker but with a bit of substance to make fulfilling

Very attractive pour in the tall Timmermans goblet with a big white head on the dark golden brew streaming with bubbles. The body is light, of course, but enough malt brushes the lips that it has a little substance.

Light flowery aroma with a deep piney nose. Just a hint of very light malt along with the hopped-up club soda taste. However the slightly more complicated resiny and toasty notes make this more interesting. Brewer rates this at 60 IBUs, though it's less bitter tasting than a lot of Pale Ales.

Totally drinkable and one of the better "session IPAs" I've had. This doesn't seem ridiculously bitter, and it's crisp and refreshing. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Fred Meyer in Burlington, WA.
