Tasted 5 January 2016. First review of the new year!
Pours a medium golden-orange-amber, an enjgmatic color. One finger of white head, pretty good retention, lots of lacing. Nice.
Smell is good, but faint. Pale wheat, light lemony sour, a hint of berries.
Taste is excellent. The subtlety that good berliners bring, with the sour, the light sweetness, the gentle fruit, all swirling and dancing together. Finishes with a lovely tart spin.
Feel matches the taste. Could use just a touch more carb, but otherwise it's nearly perfect. Starts out light and fizzy, fades a bit, then surges back. Wow.
I really like this beer. It has all the marks of a fine berliner weisse, plus that soft fruit touch works so well, just adds a special something.
