Cloudy light yellowish in the glass with a nice bubbling foam. The mouthfeel is sudsy, a good approximation of the German creamy carbonation. A whiff of the banana-scented esters. A pleasant subtle aroma.
Slightly sweet but also tangy from all the fizziness. This has a toasty malt flavor that is different from any Hefeweizens I've encountered. Warm and malty, but light and clean. This is a more sophisticated, if that's the right word, variety of Hefeweizen. So bright and flavorful but without the cloying intensity of a lot of brews in this style. The clove element is faint, the way it ought to be.
Tasty and sensationally drinkable. From the 32 oz jug purchased at the brewery tap in South Seattle.
