On tap, poured into a saison glass at the Dahlia Lounge, Seattle.

Hazy pale straw color, white head, some good lacing.

Aroma is Belgian yeast, spice, and lemon.

Taste follows nose. Lemon, pepper, yeast. Nice sharp hoppy bite, dry finish. Creamy smooth mouthfeel.

Overall a good blonde ale.

Schooner Exact Brewing Company Gateway Golden Ale--Bottle #2108 J25.11--2011 32 oz. Growler Bottle. 5.50% ABV. 14 IBU's. (3.5 / 5.0) Thin lace light thin white head. Cloudy bright orange gold color. Delicate fruit citrus hop aroma. Refreshing medium light slightly sweet fruity malt body. Mild hop lingering clean fruit ester end. Tasty, quenching slightly fruity golden ale. Served in straight pint glass. Poured a clean, clear golden yellow with over over an inch of bubbly white head that dissipated quickly and left moderate lacing.

The aroma was fairly typical for the style, nicely balanced, showing the the clean grains and a deft hand with the complimentary hops. The flavors were very similar, nice earthy grains across the tongue with an interesting tickle of hops on the finish.

The body was also about what you expect, crisp, clean and smooth. Drinkability was very good, you could drink several of these and not get worn out, either your tongue or your head.

Overall, a nice little beer that's worth your time. Stick a growler in the fridge and you've got your lawnmower beer.
