Sun Circles is a collaborative blend with Shawn Kalis of Ruse Brewing. The beer is a 50/50 split of light saisons, each aged in a single wine cask with fresh nectarines and his house Brettanomyces yeast at our respective breweries. The idea was born from a mutual admiration of each other's work and a love of fruit beers and saisons with balanced flavors. The Sun Circles opens with a deep aroma of ripe nectarines followed by light yet distinct malt flavors and an attractive and appetizing blend of esters and phenolics. The beer is drinking great now and we encourage folks to enjoy it within the year, while the fruit shows brightly.

Bottle #2 of 48 from Upright.
The first pour is a clear light yellow with a dense, off-white head that falls off rapidly. The nose is excellent. Bright, redolent, resplendent nectarines, super juicy, super fruity, with a delicate straw and grassy funk, a mildly buttery and oaky Chardonnay, a touch of grassy hops, nectarine skin tannins and fuzz, a mild sourness that's a blend of lactic and lemon with a touch of funk... this is excellent. The palate opens bright and tart, quenching and clean with a blend of nectarine and lemon. Clean lactic sourness with a lemony brightness enliven the nectarine fruitiness and amplify the stone fruit flavors. Moderately floral, this is crisp and remarkably refreshing. The mid-palate has some mild earthy and grassy funk that lingers on in the finish, which also incorporates the lactic and lemony sourness. The fruit does linger, bright, ripe and clean. Exceptional stuff - better than the Nectarine Four IMO.
