West Coast Ghost takes our award winning WW Pro/Am beer from last summer and transforms it through a specific set of barrels – pinot, nocino, and fortified muscat, all of which add extra layers to the already complex brew that incorporated Nepali and sansho peppercorn and fresh Russian sage. A small addition of black lime just before kegging is the final touch. 4.3%

A clear light orange with a dense white head with good retention and lacing this looks good. The nose is bright with mildly lactic black limes, a delicate sage note to go with a bright yet delicate base Saison, mildly spicy, mildly earthy. Barrel treatments add depth to the nose, with sweet Muscat and fruity Pinot are noticeable. Mild sourness, a little lactic, is present. The palate opens mildly tart with a yogurt like tartness brightened up considerably by the black lime, that also adds a mildly oily citrus resin note. Delicate nutty grain notes. Peppercorn notes are hidden, and I can't really pickout much nocino. Lime lingers on in the finish. Excellent, reminiscent of Sole Composition: Wedding Beer for those that care though arguably not as good. Still, this is a truly delightful beer.
