Birthday Blend is a one-off for our twelfth anniversary! The beer threads casks of a 17 month barrel aged saison hopped with liberty, cascade, and citra, with a gin barrel of the Money Ave IPA. The blend is an expression of the lightly tart, reasonably hopped farmhouse style we love.

Mason jar from Saraveza.
A mildly hazy straw yellow with a dense, white head with great retention and lacing, this looks great. Immediately noticeable on the nose are the citra dry hops and the gin barrel. Notes of melon, earth, the classic Upright Anniversary Brett expression - earth, clove, tannins augmented with a complementary hop character - is present. Really funky in the middle with earth, a little sulfur, lemon, some grain. Gin, lemon.
The palate opens with a blend of lemon, earth, Brett funk. This is followed by grain, gin, bitter earth, some hops. The acidity is perfect - it firms the palate, ties in the funk, the gin. The mouthfeel is sublime. Light, airy, crisp, firm, with gin botanical, floral notes.
