Collaboration with MysterLee Brewing Co.
Duet is a collaboration made with MysterLee Brewing from Seoul. A complex recipe using Azacca and Meridian hops, sansho, omifa berry, and pomegranate, with extensive maturation in pinot and vermouth barrels, the Duet finished as a bold, tart saison.

Bottle from the source.
A mildly hazy glowing orange with a thin, white head with good retention and lacing this looks solid. I don't know Omija berries, but I do know pomegranate, and this beer has a beautiful pomegranate character, floral, fruity, bright delicate yet punchy with the hint of earthy anthocyananin character. This is carried on a complex, barrel aged saison base with the complex Upright house funk. There's a sharpness I'd associate with seed tannins, but this isn't the aggressive bitterness of pomegranate seeds, and I have no idea what omija berries are. Woody, mild white balsamic vinegar. The palate opens with a lot of deep fermentation character, punchy, bright and complex. Mild acetic character but in a very fruity way with soft esters, and a lot of barrel character. Woody but fresh, but with a rich, white wine like character, reminding me in way of the sweetness that Four Hands had. The mid-palate has wood, earthy spices and a unique, fruity, berry like acidity. Drying, tart on the finish with lingering soft tannins that give this a nice heft. Softly carbonated, expertly conditioned. Lovely.
