Not sure how I missed this one.
On tap at Puckerfest at Belmont Station on July 20, 2011.

4oz taster. served a cloudy, pale light-orange with a smaller bright white head.

The smell is very fruity and the apricot hits you hard a first, but then the Gin booze quickly follows and dominates your nose.

The taste is almost like an apricot mamosa. Very fruity and floral with a nice booze bite. There is a perfect funk throughout.

The mouth is thin overall, but the fruit thickens it up when you come across it. Pieces of apricot are present. Good carbonation and a mixed body.

Overall, I liked this one. The Gin added a different take on the whole Puckerfest theme.

10oz pour from The Hop and Vine

a: pours a hazy orange, almost resembling orange juice though a little less opaque and a shade darker

s: fruity and botanical. apricots come through followed by a flowery bouquet.

t: light hint of apricot hits before a strong hint of flowers comes through with a slight gin and sour note before finishing dry and slightly malty.

m: medium mouth feel with a high carbonation to it.

d: the botanical side of things surprisingly play heavily in this beer with the apricots playing second fiddle. nevertheless it's enjoyable as the apricots meld well with and evokes something like Roots' Heather Ale. too bad this is the last keg.

Consumed at Upright Tasting Room, the Single Barrel Anniversary is Upright 4 with apricot aged in an Old Tom Gin from Ransom Spirits (from Oregon) barrel.

1/3 finger white head, quick dissipation with a thin layer of head retained on top of body, some lacing present. Hazy banana golden body, no visible carbonation. The nose is pretty dry, picking up some apricot notes, with floral hops. Taste is a bit on the fruity side, good botanical presence imparted from the gin barrel, a bit of coriander and some orange peel, juniper berries, a bit tart and some sourness in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium full, fruity yet a pretty dry finish due to use of the house yeast. A pretty smooth drinking ale with enough funk to get the attention of PDX Sour Patrol members. The gin barrel locally sourced was a nice touch, really provided a degree of complexity greater than the 'regular' apricot ale. Glad I was able to try this. Another winner from Alex Ganum.
