so impossibly pumped up to have upright selling beer in idaho, one of my favorites anywhere and low key one of the best breweries in the whole country, so this is an awesome development here. this is a cool blended brew, hoppy saison with wood aged wild beer, low alcohol but intriguingly complex, at the same time stupidly drinkable, even refreshing, i have to remind myself repeatedly to slow down and savor this, what a beer! blonde golden from the tap with just a little muting haze to it and a wispy inch of white head, looks lovely and very well carbonated. i smell the hops right away, noble but citrusy too, light earthy spice there, pops on top of the pale wheat malt and pils malt base these beers seem to be constructed upon. i get some gin botanicals too, light oak and white wine, a hint of lemongrass and bee balm herbaceous character perhaps again from the hops, and some neat bretty funk, mature, but it seems like the wild part of the blend is the lesser part, some cleaner french type saison esters swirl about as well, lots going on here, all real springy and summery and sexy. the flavor is awesome, a little more musty and mature up front than i could smell, farmy and rustic and indeed a touch more sturdy too, grainy, earthy, and even kind of raw. there is still some freshness from the hops, a limey brightness and then bitter bite, grassy and noble, a belgian yeast thing with pear and apple, funky brett and white wine at the end, a decent amount of wood on it too, and vibrant carbonation. cool beer, i can taste both the freshness of the young saison and the wild character of the older one, a neat blend, the best of both worlds in one glass, exceedingly nuanced, i hope this is just the beginning of upright draft around idaho!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
