I had this at the tasting room in Delmar, De -served chilled in tumbler.
A - A cloudy caramel light brown color with thick rocky light cream cap, the bead is tight and lace clings well
S - The smell has a fruity ester, moderate phenolic and tropical notes from the Belgian yeast and slight citrus note from the hops, but more herbal odor than anything and light spice
M - The feel is full for the style with moderate carbonation and medium bitterness w/ a slight acidity and semi-dry finish
T - The flavor is good w/ a nice chewy malt backing a hoppy flavor that is fresh and cooperates well with the mild flavors in the yeast. The sweetness and biterness are in balance and the malt flavor is almost creamy combined with the Belgian yeast
D -A highly drinkable Bel Pale, I was glad to be able to try this. I hope Evolution continues to explore belgian style ales as this was a rewarding brew, a well brewed beer and good representative of the style

A Belgian pale ale, brewed with ample American hops. The growler was filled last Friday, August 27, at the brewery.
A: The pale ale is a rich golden color with a few brown notes darkening up the ale. The ale retains a haze even after it warms up. A finger and a half of white head, densely packed, leaves a ring of lace around the mouth of my glass.
S: The nose is ripe with hops, earthy and floral, that represent the Belgo-American spectrum. A musty yeast strain adds fruity flavors and a young Orval aroma. Sharp and sweet in one fell swoop.
T: Dry from the first sip, the yeast has left nothing behind. Every possible sugar is gone, replaced by pale fruits and sweet sugars. Pale malts, bready, are well-paired with the yeast. Rising above both are the hops. They are floral and earthy, a strong citrus meme running through them. The mustiness, strongest in the finish, is a nice crescendo to the hops: they build up and build up before the the sweet fruits rush into the picture. A complete ale from start to finish and possible the best of the bunch from Evolution.
M: The mouthfeel is dominated by the hops and the yeast, an earthy, fruity flavor from first sip to last. The rustic flavor really hits the spot.
D: My first growler choice at the brewery and the one I saved for last. A beautiful pale ale that has more than enough flavor to go around. The citrusy American hops push it over the top.
