Grabbed a can of 2025 Menangerie 11 RIS at Cheers. First I’d seen this return to the Menangerie series…but see it had an earlier iteration last year as well.
This version poured a nice richly dark brown with ruby accents to light. Produced a beautiful full creamy tan head about 2-3 inches in my EVO snifter that lasted more than a few minutes to my surprise. Dissipated to a full thick 1/2 inches; then ended as an attractive thin tan halo for second half. Pretty nice for a 10%er.
Nose remarkable for roasted dark malt; faint chocolate but some very faint herbal. Taste however was rich with big dark malts and chocolate. Delicious. I would score higher but there was not the RIS roastiness I had expected…instead it really comes across as big time chocolate enhanced imperial stout. Works for me. Body was a luxuriant soft smooth full body. So easily drinkable. No alcohol burn. Just decadent sipper. Kudos. Overall it somewhat lacks the expected big Baltic/Russian roast. But it is a very good Imp Stout. Really liked it. Expect I’ll be heading to tap room to see if it’s on tap…then grab a 4 pack regardless.

I didn't add this beer, but I will be the first to review it. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a black color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of roasted malts, chocolate. Taste is roasted malts, hops are present, light chocolate, alcohol is well hidden. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a solid beer.
