12oz pour of this at the Salisbury restaurant. Enjoyed in a snifter.
A: Black as night. No light escapes initially, but eventually you do see some reddish hues on the edges of the glass. Light tan head dissipates into a ring around the edges quickly but hangs there for a while. You do get some alcohol feet.
S: Soft vanilla notes from the barrel aging. Some milk chocolate. Some roast character. Smells inviting.
T: Up front you get chocolate but it's not overly dark or bitter. After that you get some sweet vanilla notes. Light roast. A touch of that oak tanin quality. It's really nicely put together beer, especially for being lower in alcohol.
M: Full but not RIS like on the fullness.
