This beer is an amazing one off Red Rye beer. The Barn in Parkville Maryland is one of the lucky few to carry this beer. It is a nice anytime beer and am disappointing if they do not make it again, its nice for anyone who would like an ESB or an IPA.

I had this on tap at Evolution Public House in Salisbury serve chilled in a shaker pint.

The color is dark crimson with hazed appearance and thick pale tan cap with small bead, lace sticks well, retention is very good. The smell is very pungent with hops, lots of citrus notes -mostly orange but I am unsure what hops they used...probably amarillo with a nice light malt aroma and pepper with some pine hop esters augmenting with the orange rind notes dominant in the nose. The feel is bitter up front with some tangy yeast accent and fruity hop acidity with moderate carbonation and dry finish with low alcohol influence.

The taste is excellent, so much flavor from the hops with fruity and citrus taste and light spice with gentle caramel from the malt and rye. There is a mild stone fruit with a grapefruit type bitterness in the finish with light pine and toast in the malt, a nice blend of taste with hops dominant. Overall this is probably my second favorite rye beer even though it is listed as an amber the description from evolution's website mentions rye. I would say the only similar beer to compare it to would be Red's Rye by Founder's

On tap at Max's Hopfest.

Pours a dark copper amber color, absolutely no head on the beer.

Smell is a little sweet, floral hops, earthy notes. Not sure if this is brewed with rye, but I get some rye in the nose too.

Flavor is sweet malts, floral and citrus hops. A little grapefruit.

This is medium bodied, very smooth, and very sessionable. I am not always a big red ale person, but this is really good. I like it.
