This is supposed to be brewed with honeydew melon, according to bartenders and the electronic beer list. I didn't taste anything resembling fruit. Clear golden color with an adequate foam. Modest yeasty aroma.
No hint of sweetness. It's all dry, dirty, and quickly descends into a medicinal bitterness that hangs on like a pit bull. Tastes like wood, pencil shavings, and walnut skins with a hint of chokecherry astringency.
I've never tasted a supposed Saison that like this. What did they do to torture the yeast into such an extreme bitterness. This is without a doubt the worst Saison I've ever had. On tap at the India Street restaurant.
