Had on cask at Mediterraneo in Hermosa Beach, April 2014
A: Dark black...no head
S: Cocoa and oak.
T: Tons of whiskey - like a boilermaker. Not the heaviest stout, but the oak and whiskey really compliment it well
M: full bodied, silky and smooth. Very little carbonation

Had this on cask at the 2010 Firkin Festival.
This poured a pitch black.
On the nose, it smelled of: tons of whiskey!, vanilla, roasted malt and slightly sweet caramel.
It tasted way more mellow than it smelled. It did not have much of a burn as on the nose. It tasted of vanilla, sweet bourbon, whiskey, malt, caramel with a dry ending.
It did not have any coffee or burnt flavors, it was more candilike and delicious.
Good drinkabilty, decent carbonation.

Finally got the cask going at the Goat. Have been looking forward to this one.
Appearance- Black. Ok, a very, very dark chestnut brown. Inch of nicely tan head. No real lacing.
Smell- Lots of wood. Oak and smoke. The whisky is powerful.
Taste- Follows the nose. It is quite smokey up front. It finishes with a burnt coffee roastness. The whisky is quite potent.
Mouthfeel- A nice thickness. Pleasant.
Drinkability- Goes down pretty easy, although the burnt finish detracts.
Eh. The whisky doesn't do it many favors. It's a little too much smokiness. Kind of the worst of both worlds. It's not great whisky taste, which weakens the beer.

On cask at Blue Palms
A: A fantastic looking pour from the hand pump. Dark brown in color with a thick and creamy tan colored head.
S: The nose is very woody, too much so, in fact. There are some nice notes of chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla, and whiskey, and then a lot more oak.
T: Once again, the oak totally dominates this beer, and the whiskey presence is very noticeable. This is unfortunate, because you don't get much of the base beer. There are some barely detectable notes of chocolate and malt, but they're buried deep within.
M: The mouthfeel on this beer is quite nice. The body is medium with a very creamy carbonation.
D: Unfortunately, the whiskey and oak just overpower everything else in this beer. I was hoping for a great beer, but these oak chip aged BP beers all seem to have this problem.
