The Payette National Forest in Central Idaho covers nearly 3.2 million acres of rugged and remote mountains , North Americas 1st and 3rd deepest river gorges, (the Salmon and Snake Rivers), and a natural abundance of trees, flowers, lakes ,rivers, animals, and historical human heritage. This year it will also boast the harvest site of the 2016 US Capitol Christmas Tree. that will stand tall, and light up our nation’s Capitol. The brewers at Salmon River Brewery got their hands on a kettle’s worth of tree boughs from the actual Englemann Spruce tree going to the Capitol and brewed up a festive spruce tip ale! This small batch beer will travel across the country, and eventually make it to our nation’s capitol, where we hope it adds additional cheer to the wonderful national celebration.

Bottle from brewery. Bright golden pour, small bubbly head. Obey aroma, slightly minty, this pretty much rules the whole experience, although I don’t think it’s as pronounced as others have said.
