Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a deep copper orange color with a small head of white foam. The head fades rather fast leaving just a light level of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is very heavy of a lightly toasted pumpkin aroma mixed with a big showing of spice of cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. Along with these more dominant aromas also comes notes of a brown sugar and caramel sweetness as well as some biscuit malt.
Taste – The taste begins with a nice biscuit and cracker malt base paired with a good showing of pureed pumpkin and a light level of caramel and brown sugar. The spice of cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove are lighter upfront, getting a bit more intense over the taste transition on the tongue, but never getting overly strong. Notes of a light earthiness and a loss of some of the sweet hit later on, leaving one with a moderate natured pumpkin taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is one the slightly more crisp side with a carbonation that is middle of the road.
Overall –A rather nice easy drinking pumpkin ale. More balanced. Not overly pumpkiny or overly spiced. And not too sweet. Rather easy natured.
