A: single finger off white head with little lacing on a murky and muddy brown body.
S: mild on the nose with caramel malts, toffee and a slight licorice note.
T: smokiness of this one is mild but lingers. It's a light porter with some roasted malts and slight toffee note.
M: lighter side of medium body and moderate carbonation.
Overall: standard porter. Drinkable but not memorable.

Comes out of the tap a rich, warm sable with a thick, fine-bubbled pale tan head. Smoky mocha aroma has an overtone of sweet chocolate. Rich, smoky flavor has tones of quality roast coffee and chocolate as well as hints of toffee and licorice. Smooth, strongly fizzy texture leaves a smoky finish. If you visit Atlanta and like dark beers, try this one!

Appearance: Served up a dark brown, near black body with an opaque, smallish, beige head.
Smell: Aroma of dark, though not particularly roasty malts with an ample chocolate scent backed by lesser, secondary notes of caramel and mild, decaffeinated coffee that has subsequently been chilled.
Taste: Ample dark malt flavor that, as with the nose, presents a forward taste of milk chocolate, and, again, it's supported by slighter tastes of caramel cubes and lightly roasty coffee. Also, in comes the sweetish, nutty flaked oatmeal flavor. Very nominal hop character and bitterness. Then, it's back to the sweet chocolate and oats until the smooth, lightly drying finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Fairly smooth mouthfeel.
Drinkability: An enjoyably malty, flavorful beer that's very easy to drink. You end up quaffing it so quickly your server will get that "oh, great, one of *those* tables" look on his/her face. Paired with an order of Fish-n-Chips cooked up with skate wings.

Cask version served at the brewpub.
Pours a very dark brown color with a slowly cascasding one-finger tan head. The head recedes into a thin layer on top leaving decent lacing.
Smells of roasted malts and unsweetened chocolate and not a whole lot else. As it warms the roasted malt aromas fade a bit.
Tastes similar to how it smells, though not quite as intense. Roasted malt flavors up front with semi-sweet dark chocolate flavors joining soon afterward. The ending is mildly bitter.
Mouthfeel is good. It's a bit on the thin side however the oatmeal does smooth things out.
Drinkability is good. I didn't have a problem finishing my glass and could have another.
Overall I thought this was a good porter that needed more pop. Everything was present, just not intense enough. Still, it's worth a shot if you see it on.
