Recieved in CanBif 2014 - big thanks to polloenfuego & byronic.
A: Pours a pale apricot colour with 3 fingers of lightly offwhite head which lingers to the rim of the glass. Nice amounts of lacing cover the sides of the glass with continuous carbonation streaming to the surface.
S: Candied orange peel, coriander, yeasty bread and strong notes of red wine. Hintes of pepper and ginger on the backend.
T: Upfront notes of tannins from red wine barrels, grape skins and sweet toffee like burnt orange followed by light notes of spices of white pepper, coriander and slightly medicinal. Light oakiness on the finish.
M: Medium bodied with light snappy carbonation.
O: A big step up in my opinion from the non-barrel aged version. The red wine barrels shine through adding a new complex layer of tannins and spiciness that perfectly compliments what was a solid middle of the road base beer. Definitely worth trying. I have not had the time of late to fully review beers, but glad I made the time for this one.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
