Draft: Poured a bright mahogany color ale with a medium foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet rich caramelized malt with light well rounded notes of vanilla. Taste is a mix between a well balanced caramel and light toffee malt base with light vanilla and rounded notes from the barrel-aging. The hops were not nearly as present as the non-barrelled version with a lot more attention directed to the malt base. Body is about average with nice creamy texture with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Very different from the base beer and easily drinkable.
