Beer two of Birthday BDT Bonanza. From notes.
A - Black pour with no visible carbonation. One finger creamy light brown head on top left good lace rings and a film of retention.
S - Chocolate, bourbon, roast, spirits, alcohol burn tingles the nostrels. Espresso brownies, coffee and wood come out later.
T - Woody, bourbon, roast, chocolate, dry grain husks, dark fruit.
M - Quite dry to finish, mild carbonation, lighter body than expected.
O/D - Not too bad. Spirit note was a bit strong for my liking but it definitely didn't get in the way of the quality of this. Cask was nice and mellowed it out alot. Imperial Stouts seem to work really well with this serving medium. I initially thought this lacked a bit but it definitely grew on me. Good one.
